Smoke was one of my favorite projects mostly because it was the first huge painting I’ve done. It brought new sets of challenges and learning experiences. In the beginning I decided to not plan much. Instead I wanted to let my skills and imagination roam free. The meaning behind this piece is simply that you should stay away from harming yourself with things such as drugs or alcohol. You are a unique part of the universe who should instead breathe in life rather than cigarette smoke. You exist at this exact moment and that shouldn’t be ruined by bad choices you may later regret.
Acrylic on canvas; 11×14 in.
