I wanted to experiment with more pen sketching and use of watercolor in my pieces. I used a bold red color for the background to show how powerful synesthesia is for me. Synesthesia is when stimulation of one sense (such as hearing) leads to involuntary experiences with another sense (such as vision). For example, when I hear songs and other noises, certain colors and visuals are attached to them.
I also submitted this piece into the 2020 Scholastic Art Awards.
